Apocalypse NOW (Redux)

I watched this movie long time ago didn’t understand it too well so didn’t like it much. But now I saw it again and it was Amazing!!

We are reading Heart of Darkness and school so I decided to watch the movie and I got the Redux addition. Man-o-man the movie is long!! It was already long before the redux version where 50 minutes of footage was added. I like long movies.

Setting the movie Vietnam was definitely a better choice than keeping it in the congo like the book. It adds the much needed action the book lacks. It really has some parts with war action and it gets the blood flowing.

But the action isn’t the best part of the movie, the philosophical parts are. It deals with a humanity and our actions. It deals with our evils and our goods. Its cool how as he gets closer to Kurtz he finds out more about himself! All this stuff in the movie is just MIND BLOWING!! It makes the movie a cut above!

How Marlon Brando plays Kurtz is awesome. He seems so perfect for that role. After seeing him as Kurtz I myself wanna meet Kurtz

Robert Duvall’s character is fun to watch. He is a general the cares too much about surfing! He is really driven by that. He also delivers the most memorable line from the movie. “I love the smell of napalm in the morning………it smells like victory”

Francis Ford Coppola is awesome. The beginning sequences are awesome. They really get you into the movie and I just love them. I love how willard is all mentally torn up trying to get back into the war! The cinematography really helps to show his feelings and is great throughout the film!

Friday Night Lights

(I love the Movie Poster!)

Wow I think this might be my favorite sports movie, EVER! I mean after I saw the movie I was just like WHOA! I really really like this movie it’s the kind you would buy twice just for fun!

Its about a high school football team in Odessa Texas. The Permian Panthers are kind of a legend. They have the whole MOJO thing going for them. I remember when our high school played them my freshmen year we had shirts that said Mojo Schmojo.

Well of course there is lots of cool football action in the movie. It made me wish I could still play football. I like how the scenes are cut it works out well. I just wish they showed more of some of the games when they are in the playoffs. The team was undersized and so my team! There were other parallels that really got me into the movie. I mean I was deep in to the movie, almost like it was happening to me!

Besides there being lots of cool football action there lots of off scene drama that is really good. I really got into the sub stories. You get a feel of how important High School football is to that community.

The whole Boobie story line was very sad especially this one scene of him and his uncle in the car. Man I really felt for boobie his whole life was dependent on football his life changed in an instant. Everyone who watches this movie will feel for boobie.

They changed up a lot of thing in the movie from the actual historic facts. The didn’t play Carter in the state final they played them before I think in the Semi-Final. The games wasn’t a shoot out like in the movie it was a low scoring game. Also they left out the a whole issue where carter got its state title revoked because the principle changed a players grades so he could play. They decided to leave that out to avoid controversy I am glad they left that out it wouldn’t contribute to the story.

If you played high school football WATCH THIS MOVIE. I saw this movie after I played my last high school football game and I think it wouldn’t be the same if you were still playing football, but it is great nonetheless.

Unbreakable

M. Night Shyamalan is a good director. I love his movies and more importantly I love the way they turn out. I also like his style it really shows the feelings in the movie.

Most of the people that I talk to say they don’t like this movie and say its M. Night’s worst movie. I actually like this one the best! I just like the whole concept of the movie how it deals with superheroes but in a more realistic way. Its sooo exciting!

In the movie the main character’s family and himself aren’t very happy. The movies does an unbelievable job of portraying that. I mean the dialogue, the facial expressions, the camera angles, the shot lengths EVERYTHING!! I just sort of blew my mind how in the movie you can really feel the sadness of the characters.

One really cool scene is when Samuel L. Jackson is trying to sell that comic painting to a customer and he finally convinces him. The customer says my son is going to be happy and Jackson asks him how old is your son and the customer says four. Samuel L. Jackson say NO NO and doesn’t sell it to him.

Of course like any of his movies there is a twist at the end. I like this twist a lot. It just feels right like it makes more sense after you know everything.

I really like this movie and I think most people would like it. I still don’t know why people don’t like it. Maybe because there are some confusing parts, well that was what the lady at blockbuster said. You can watch this movie over and over because I have!

my computer ahh!

dam computer doesn't let me see the website, bastard.

movies galore!

i saw a bunch of movies this weekend and i don't want to make separate posts.. so here it is... i'm resourceful... not lazy....

first, we have this kinda bad movie. i don't know why j. lo is doing bad movies back-to-back-to-back-to-back.. come on.. after the cell, i figured she'd do maybe a bad movie and then a good movie.. but no... whats the point of having a crapload of filler movies on your film credits if they are indeed crap? i liked ralph fiennes' character though...

i liked it surprisingly. i'm so easy to please.

took me way to long to finally watch this movie. man ... pure genius. its amazing how actors can switch accents on and off like kate winslet and the howard guy who i've already forgotten the name of. reminded me of memento.. but better and not so frustrating. 10 thumbs up assuming i had 10 thumbs

indie films are the best. man i reallly really like this movie. its an adaptation of macbeth and it is amazing. i love the little references or the jokes that i understand from having read the play. i guess this is one good reason why we read it in english... so i can better understand a film haha... who needs literary merit, right? i think i'm going to have to recommend this to everyone i know. personal mission. yep.

Donnie Darko (Director's Cut)

After I first saw this movie 3 years ago, i was stunned. I watched the movie again and again over the past 3 years to help me understand more of the movie. Now after watching the Director's Cut its clears up almost all of my questions but still leaves some mystery.

One word to describe this movies is CRAZY! This movie is crazy, but that is the beauty of the movie. It’s what makes it soooo coool.

The movie is a Sci-Fi/Dark Comedy/Thriller/Horror movie. One part of the movie is time travel but that is not all what the movie is about. The movie also shows a lot about the suburban society in the 80's. What exactly is in this movie is hard to explain but it has a whole lot to offer.

The movie can be really funny at times, mainly because of Donnie Darko. Donnie is a crazy ass character. He sees things(A creepy human-sized bunny) . He is very smart. He goes on sort of a rebellion and that also adds some of the humor.

The coolest thing about the movie is that it makes you think soo much. After you watch it you have soo many questions you are kinda confused you want to know what’s going on. These Questions really started burning inside me. They weren’t only questions about what is going on in the movie but also other questions about real life. I recommend you see the original and not the Director's Cut. The original seems to have a better effect and will leave you with the same feeling it left me. It may seem like why would you want to be confused but its more like you are in awe and a little confused.

This movie can be watched over and over again, and i know this because i did watch it over and over again. The original is one of my top favorite movies of ALL time.

the Passion of the Christ

i was ready for this movie. after my mom told me i wasn't allowed to watch it because of the blood and violence and everyone said how morbid it was, i was ready. i guess after hearing how violent it was, i expected a lot more. but then i realized you really can't get more violent than that.. so i guess i was just prepared.

its really quite amazing how differently i thought the crucifixion of Jesus took place. i bet mel gibson's portrayal is more accurate.

everyone's going to see this movie in a different light. for me, it was heavy. thats the only word i can use to describe it. heavy.

The Phantom of the Opera

wow. the music was incredible. the movie was alright, but i guess it was well done for it being an adapted musical for a movie. although the whole movie didn't add up to what i had been expecting, there were some really amazing parts. like when they first put up the chandelier and the music starts playing.. incredible.

i love it when actors sing their own parts. actors are becoming so versatile these days its crazy. but good. emmy rossum.. wow.. and so young

i really need to go see the opera
