The Phantom of the Opera

wow. the music was incredible. the movie was alright, but i guess it was well done for it being an adapted musical for a movie. although the whole movie didn't add up to what i had been expecting, there were some really amazing parts. like when they first put up the chandelier and the music starts playing.. incredible.

i love it when actors sing their own parts. actors are becoming so versatile these days its crazy. but good. emmy rossum.. wow.. and so young

i really need to go see the opera

Hi Liz. Don't know if you remember me... ;]

I rate the movie 5 out of 5 stars, but I rate the musical 2 out of 5. Andrew Lloyd Webber's adaptation of the real "Phantom of the Opera" just doesn't depict what a reader might extract out of the reading experience. Too many essential characters and really awesome scenes were removed from Gaston Leroux's novel, like this really cool scene dealing with an iron tree...

The actors were awesome and I agree that people are becoming extremely versatile these days, but Gerard Butler's too hot to be the phantom and he coudn't reach a certain pitch in "Music of the Night".

Before you go see the opera, read the novel. :) The novel is SO awesome.
