Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

soooooo i've been known to like bad movies and dislike good movies. with this trend, i really like jay and silent bob strike back. haha. it's funny! and after a week load of college essays, i think it was a good one to watch.

i watched mallrats a couple of weeks ago and it took me this long to watch jay and silent bob. man. i think it was funnnnny. i never laugh out loud during movies when i'm watching by myself and this actually made me "lol" oh and i think jason lee is the best ever. EVER

i love it when there are a lot of cameos in a movie... oh man i love that so much. SO MUCH! my favorite part had to be when matt damon and ben affleck were filming good will hunting 2.. hahahhaha.. oh man hahahahah

its immature humor for the most part but its still good. i guess you can obviously see how refined my humor is .. haha... OH! and if you ever get a chance, go to Blockbuster and get this Kevin Smith Live thing cuz its the funniest thing in the world. Silent Bob speaks! and for like 3 hours.. its amazing. go watch now!

(my goal is to post at least 3 times before Rehman gets back so that I look like the movie master! ... though he's at a wedding and this is technically unfair...)

Another movie that i didn't know what to expect when I went to see it.


I am now officially a fan of Paul Giamatti. He is the perfect actor to play a middle aged man with some sort of problem. He was awesome in American Splendor and does the same in this movie. The way he plays his character you are FORCED to feel for him. When he does something good you are truly happy for him. Although most of the time his character gets screwed somehow. His character is defiantly a standout one in the movie.

This movie is very funny and i found it funny at times where it wasn't even supposed to be funny. The humor ranges from physical to situational to sexual to anything! There was one part where everyone in theater was laughing for quite a while. If you are looking for a comedy check this one out.
If you are a wine lover then watch this movie! There was alot of references to wine and a huge portion of the movie revolves around wine. Although if you dont' know anything about wine ( like me) don't be discouraged you will enjoy the movie the same.

Miles (Giamatti) and his friend go on a trip the week before his friends wedding. They go to taste wine, play golf, have a good time. After the meet a few girls plans change and the good stuff starts!!!

Miles has many many problems as the movie progresses you see miles embrace the problems and start to liberate himself from them. This is all done in a very funny manner! He finally gets over his awkwardness after his wife left him. It seems like he was having a mid-life crisis

This movie seems geared toward and older audience and i think if not for the humor most teenagers would not like the movie. There are many "grown up" motifs that wouldn't sit well with younger audiences.

But you must see this movie it could be the best comedy to come out this year!

Collateral

Tom Cruise is a BAD ASS in this movie. That’s the truth, while I was watching the movie I kept thinking man this guy is such a bad ass. He is a bad ass because of what he says, what he does, what he wears, everything about him! He is also a "Kool Kat," like a smooth talker.

Tom Cruise goes crazy in this movie kinda reminds me of Mission Impossible! He beats the crap out of everybody.

Jamie Foxx is great at comedy but I am realizing that he has much more depth to him. After Any Given Sunday and this movie you can see is aptitude for dramatic acting. Foxx is a great actor for this role.

Suspense is in abundant supply. Its a great ride, haha, the action is not extreme with explosions but its satisfying to any action lover. Just the way the whole movie fits together.

There is some great funny parts in the movie. They are sprinkled throughout the movie and have a great effect. I like the way Tom Cruise deals with Jamie Foxx's boss, very funny!

Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx have great conversations in the cab. It's one the best aspects of the movie. They sometimes talk as if they knew each other for a quite a while and are friends. There is a philosophical side to the movie that adds sooooo much to the movie. There are times when you hear something a character says and just sit in your seat and wonder. There is one great sequence about murder and a few about our “cosmic significance.”

Throughout the movie the two main characters learn more and more about themselves. They develop as characters. They feed off of each other and grow. I think that they both are changed in more ways than one after their experience

I think that most people who like action movies will like this one. Even if you aren't a big fan of action/suspense the movie has loads more to offer.

Napoleon Dynamite

Wow! I wanna meet and be friends with Napoleon Dynamite.

That has to be the most unique movie character possibly my favorite. The only rival could be the cop from Fargo. She was amazing! So is Napoleon.

I know for a fact that either you love it or hate it and think it’s stupid. How you feel about this movie depends on your sense of humor greatly. It’s either funny or completely stupid.

The humor in the movie shocked me then made me laugh. If Napoleon didn't look like he does I don't think the movie would be funny. I mean look at him! He brings the geek out in me! A lot of what’s funny is the way Napoleon walks and moves. He is soo passive and seems to live life in slow motion. Pedro is also the same way.

I love the way napoleon talks. The coolest thing he said was when his Grandmother asked him how was school he said "The worst day of my life, what do you think?"

And who has a pet llama? Man I really want to meet this guy!

The movie has no real big name actors/actresses but it doesn't need them no really acting is required in the movie. The movie has no real plot more like a series of events somewhat connected. Actually the movie doesn't even need a plot if it had one it might take away from the movie.

Napoleon Dynamite is one of those movies that you won't find another one like it again unless a sequel is released! Go watch it now! Then you will want to watch it again.

A Foreign Affair (2 Brothers and a Bride)

I had no idea what this movie was about when i watched it and I had no idea what to expect. After watching it I was very surprised.

The movie starts off kinda slow and doesn't seem like it will offer much but it does pick up. It’s a comedy but doesn't have many intended funny parts. It focuses more on the romance.

The romantic story line is very different. The two brothers go to Russia to find a wife so she can cook for them and take care of the house. David Arquette’s character is very dependent on his brother after their mother dies. He seems semi-retarded at first.

The movie is about the relationship between the two brothers and how one of them opens up and finds out more about himself and grows into himself.

I like how they show the passing of each day with the automatic fish food dispenser!

This movie is a great one time watch.

i finally watched the movie that i borrowed from rehman 3 months ago.

i thought it would be bad, but it wasn't so i'm happy. I don't like how similar the movie was to the mask. (now that was one annnnnoying movie)

i also don't like how renee zellwegger isn't featured on the cover. i'm not a big fan of the pursed lips actress, but she actually did a good job in this movie. that girl has done a variety of roles, too.

the funniest scenes were when his three sons were featured. no question about it.

this movie was fine... nothing extraordinary and of course it's not really on the same level as other jim carrey movies, but its fine. i guess every great actor (and i think jim carreey is) needs to have what I call "filler films" on their resume and i think this is one.




Shrek 2

so, i may be the only person in america who hadn't seen this movie till now (well michelle too, maybe) but i now can join the rest of the world and say that i've seen shrek 2

i don't know who thought of the idea of shrek, but they should get the nobel prize. or maybe an oscar. so, it's not the #1 comedy of all time, but it sure is a funny film. i love it when children's films are funnier for adults than the children themselves because of the subtle humor. there are of course farting/burping/cheesy martial arts that will make children laugh, but all the other stuff like allusions and references make this movie so darn funny.

i wouldn't go so far as to say this one is funnier than the first one, but at least it didn't disappoint anyone like most sequels do. i can't wait until i get the time to look at all the bonus features on this dvd. i might pee in my pants from the anticipation.

Big Fish

This movie has two distinct aspects to it. One is the stories and the other is the relationship between the father and the son.

The stories are just FUN! They make the movie like an adventure. The stories are funny and very interesting. It was the best part of the movie for me. Its like watching a bunch of little movies. What’s up with the giant, he seemed to be a little deformed. The father is a great story teller makes me wanna be one. Though some of the stories were "whack." For instance i hated when the dad saw his future wife he was all lovey dubby and goes on a quest to find out who she is. It felt fake but then again the father's whole thing was that he exaggerated all his stories.

Some critic compared the movie to The Wizard of Oz and i do see how they are the same, both are just one big adventure! I just love the stories in the movie!!!

The relationship issues with the father are the more serious part of the movie. The whole relationship plot is driven by the stories. It's nice to see how the son realizes why his dad tells the stories the way he does. It’s kinda heartwarming.

What i got from the movie was that your life is what you make it. You are remembered only by how your life is remembered.

I can sometimes feel Tim Burton's presence in the movie. There are times where you can tell its his imagination working.

I really think almost everyone would enjoy the movie. There will be at least one story that everyone likes, even if they dislike the rest of the movie.

Meet the Fockers




so, don't you hate it when the media hypes up a movie to be GREAT and it ends up just being okay... yeah, thats basically what Meet the Fockers was. Maybe I had too high of expectations... but this movie was mediocre. All the really funny parts were in the trailer and the first one was much funnier.

The only good thing about this movie was the great cast and the amazing chemistry between them. I love how they all got together to do interviews to plug the film, because they go so well together. That must have been the most amusing set during filming. Despite this, the movie was nothing extraordinary. I think I only laughed out loud twice.

I'm a big Ben Stiller fan and I wouldn't even go see this movie again... not even in the dollar theatres...




The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

When I saw the first one I did not know what to expect from the movie, but after I watched it was a pretty funny movie.

I guess all the comedy in the movie is geared toward children but that doesn't mean that it won't be funny. I thought it was really funny. Anne Hathaway has a sort of slapstick comedy aura about her. I like how clumsy Princess Mia is. What cool is that there are parts that I didn't think I would laugh, but I did laugh oh yes sir i did.

I guess the rest of the story isn't too elaborate but its great for a kids movie. You must remember that it is a kids movie. The love story is completely a fairy tale but its not bad.

I don't know if i like this one better than the first, but its a great kids movie. If you have a little brother or sister watch it with them. You will be surprised to find out how funny it really is.

The Stepford Wives

What i don't understand is why those men did not like their wives being stronger than them. If my wife made more money than me i wouldn't care it would actually be nice and i might even prefer it. I guess they were already insecure about their little manhood (considering that they were not manly men) and their overpowering wives made them feel like shit.

Roger the gay guy is a great character in the movie. He says very funny things and he acts well gay but with humor.

I also noticed some man bashing. It probably is needed but i don't know i don't like bashing of any kind.

I wouldn't say this movie is great but its not good enough to watch again. It could have been alot better. Now if only the movie didn't make my head hurt i don't know why but it did.

This is a really great movie

A really cool aspect of the movie is its characters. The mother is very interesting. You can see how she changes a little throughout the movie. I also liked her character in Fargo!

I think the movie won an Oscar for the screenplay and rightfully so. Its like an adventure going on tour. Its truly a different world and its something i didn't know existed.

The love story is not a normal but its a good one because of that. Also how it plays out is not like most movies and i think works out very well with the rest of the movie

I like how the movie is soooooo driven by music it makes it that much better.

haha Roger Ebert said he wanted to hug himself after he saw the movie so after i saw it i hugged myself and therefore i am now Roger Ebert!
